Clinical Psychology in English, in Paris

Clinical Psychology in English, in Paris

A thoughtful and confidential space for adults and adolescents.

Consultations are offered in English, in person in Paris and online where appropriate.

You do not need to be in crisis, or know exactly what is wrong, to speak with a psychologist. Sometimes the starting point is simply that something in life has changed, no longer fits, or needs to be thought through.

01 — Introduction

A place to think carefully about the life you are living

A place to think carefully about the life you are living

There does not have to be a crisis before speaking with a psychologist becomes worthwhile. People may seek therapy after a loss, relationship difficulty, relocation, professional pressure or a period of emotional distress.

At other times, something may simply feel unsettled, disconnected or difficult to understand. Psychotherapy offers time and space to consider what is happening, what may have shaped it and what might need to change.

STARTING POINTS

You might be here because…

People come to therapy for many reasons. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty; at other times there is simply a sense that something needs greater attention or understanding.

You have moved somewhere new

Starting again in another country can bring opportunity and excitement, but also loneliness, disorientation and questions about identity and belonging. The life you imagined and the life you are experiencing may not be quite the same.

Something in your life is changing

A relationship, career, family, country or stage of life may no longer feel settled. Therapy can provide somewhere to think about what is changing and what it may mean.

You are facing a difficult decision

Sometimes we know our options and still cannot decide. The difficulty may lie not in finding more information, but in understanding the different needs, fears and desires involved.

Life looks fine from the outside

It is possible to function well and still feel dissatisfied, disconnected or uncertain about the life you are living. Psychological consultation does not have to begin with crisis.

You do not quite feel that you belong

Culture, race, sexuality, language, migration and being between different worlds can influence how we experience ourselves and our relationships with others.

You carry considerable responsibility

Leadership and responsibility can leave surprisingly few places in which to speak freely. Therapy can provide a confidential space to think about the person carrying the role, not only the demands of the role.

THE PRACTICE

Different places to begin

Psychological work can begin with personal distress, a relationship, a transition, concern about a child, or the demands of professional life. These areas are connected by an interest in understanding what is happening before deciding what needs to change.

Psychotherapy for adults and adolescents experiencing emotional difficulties, relationship concerns, recurring patterns, questions of identity and belonging, or periods of uncertainty and change.

Psychological support for people navigating relocation, returning home, career and relationship changes, difficult decisions, or the experience of no longer feeling entirely at home in a life that once fitted.

Psychological consultation for parents trying to understand what may be happening with a child or adolescent, alongside parent talks, workshops and psychologically informed programmes for schools and international communities.

Confidential psychological consultation for people carrying significant responsibility, alongside psychologically informed workshops, facilitated conversations and programmes for organisations.

03 — Perspective

Working across cultures

Working across cultures

Living between countries, cultures or languages can create opportunities while also complicating identity, relationships and belonging. My practice is particularly attentive to internationally mobile people and families, LGBTQIA+ people, and people from minority cultural backgrounds. These experiences are not separate from psychological life; they may be central to understanding it.

A place to begin

You do not need to know exactly what you want to discuss before making contact. An initial consultation offers an opportunity to talk about what has brought you here and consider whether working together may be useful.
